The role:

Dorset Community Action’s (DCA) mission is to encourage and support communities in Dorset to improve people’s lives, particularly those most disadvantaged. We are independent, providing information, advice, networking and support services to community and voluntary organisations of all shapes and sizes. We also support disadvantaged people to develop skills to gain employment.
We are looking for people with a range of skills and knowledge, who reflect the diversity of the groups and communities we serve. We are especially keen to involve people with the following skills and experience:

• Charity trusteeship
• Fund raising
• Financial management
• Corporate relationships
• Sales;
• Media/PR

While a commitment to attend Board and committee meetings around 10 times per year is important, so too is a willingness to get to know, and provide guidance and support for the operational team. Quarterly Board meetings are held at Wimborne Community Centre, but others are normally held on-line.
